Avigilon Dual Authentication

Avigilon Dual Authentication

A dual authentication module for Avigilon Unity that requires two separate tokens from the same identity to access high-security areas — preserving individual accountability without requiring two people.

The Dual Authentication Module for Avigilon Unity strengthens physical access control by requiring a single user to present two valid authentication tokens before access is granted. Unlike dual-custody configurations — which rely on two different identities — this solution ensures both factors belong to the same individual, maintaining full personal traceability and clean audit trails.

Designed for high-security environments such as data centres, laboratories, critical infrastructure, and restricted zones, the module integrates natively with Avigilon Unity without additional hardware, leveraging the readers and credentials already deployed on site. Any combination of tokens supported by the platform can be configured as an authentication pair — card + PIN, card + card, mobile credential + PIN, and more.

All management is handled directly within Avigilon Unity Control Center, keeping a single administration point for rules, users, and events.
