Avigilon System Status
Avigilon System Status is a web-based monitoring platform for Avigilon systems, developed by TechWin. It aggregates the real-time status of cameras and devices across multiple Avigilon servers into a centralised dashboard, with immediate visual alerts and a REST API with webhook support for automatic anomaly notifications.
Avigilon System Status is a web application developed by TechWin that enables centralised monitoring of the operational status of multiple Avigilon servers — whether Avigilon Control Center (ACC) or Avigilon Unity instances — from a single interface, without the need to access each server individually.
The platform is configured through a Server Configuration page, where monitored servers are registered with their URL and access credentials. Once configured, all servers are queried periodically and their data aggregated into a global dashboard that clearly presents the total number of registered cameras, connected cameras, and disconnected cameras — both at a global level and broken down by site and NVR.
When anomalies are detected — such as disconnected cameras or unreachable servers — the dashboard displays a prominent visual alert ("Issue Detected"), allowing operators to identify problems instantly without navigating server by server. Each site features a circular status chart for rapid health assessment, complemented by detailed counters and direct access to the list of problematic cameras.
For integration and automation scenarios, the platform exposes a REST API documented in an integrated API Explorer, allowing third-party systems to query real-time system status via the /api/status endpoint. Additionally, the webhook mechanism — managed through /api/subscribewebhook and /api/unsubscribewebhook — allows external systems to register for automatic notifications whenever an anomaly is detected, eliminating the need for continuous polling. The /api/listsubscribers endpoint enables auditing of all currently active subscriber systems.
TechWin SystemsACC System Status is the ideal solution for video surveillance managers overseeing multiple sites, IT teams looking to integrate Avigilon system health into their existing monitoring tools, and operations centres requiring immediate visibility into the camera infrastructure's operational state.
Centralised multi-site dashboard: Aggregated view of camera status across all configured Avigilon servers, with per-site and per-NVR detail
Real-time visual alerts: "Issue Detected" indicator triggered automatically when cameras or servers report problems
Per-site status charts: Circular visual representation of the connected vs. disconnected camera ratio per server
Server management: Registration and configuration of multiple Avigilon ACC/Unity servers by URL and credentials
Documented REST API: /api/status endpoint for programmatic system status queries, with integrated API Explorer
Notification webhooks: Subscription and management of automatic notifications to external systems via /api/subscribewebhook and /api/unsubscribewebhook
Subscriber listing: Audit of systems registered to receive notifications via /api/listsubscribers
Drill-down to issues: Direct navigation to the disconnected camera list per site
Technical Requirements
- Avigilon ACC or Avigilon Unity servers accessible on the network via HTTPS (default port 8443)
- Valid administrator credentials for each Avigilon server to be monitored
- Modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari — recent versions) for web interface access
- Web server to host the application with network access to the Avigilon servers
- For API and webhook usage: REST-compatible external system (HTTP/HTTPS) capable of receiving notifications
