Area Manager is an intuitive and responsive web platform designed to simplify the management of shared spaces. It integrates seamlessly with Avigilon Unity Access, Avigilon’s on-premise access control solution, allowing organizations to manage physical spaces while maintaining centralized access control.
The platform offers two flexible operating modes, allowing organizations to choose the workflow that best fits their operational needs:
- Direct Management through Unity Access
In this mode, administrators manage spaces directly within Unity Access, using its full access control capabilities. Area Manager serves as a visualization and analytics layer, providing dashboards, real-time occupancy monitoring, and reporting tools that give managers better operational insight while all configurations and access policies remain managed within Unity Access.
- Management through the Area Manager Portal
lternatively, managers can operate spaces directly through the Area Manager web portal, which provides a more user-friendly and streamlined interface for day-to-day management. Administrators configure spaces, permissions, and occupancy within the portal, and all configurations are automatically synchronized with Unity Access, ensuring unified access control across the system.
One of Area Manager’s key advantages is its support for nested spaces — spaces within spaces. This hierarchical structure enables organizations to model complex environments such as large facilities, campuses, or multi-zone infrastructures. Users can access multiple spaces simultaneously, with permissions customized for each space.
Three permission levels provide granular control over who can view, manage, or administer each space, ensuring proper governance and security in multi-user environments.
The interactive dashboard provides a real-time view of space occupancy, enabling immediate responses to capacity issues or operational anomalies. In addition, occupancy reports provide historical insights and statistics to support better planning and decision-making.

- Internet or Internal Network Access to reach the web platform
- Avigilon Unity Access Administrator Credentials for the initial setup
